Fight Club shoot

Here is a shoot I did last summer. I was asked by my friend Shawn Gordon to come help with some make-up. I did a few tattoos for this shoot and Laura Watkins assisted me with them. Shawn and I did the sleeve.
This was Tye Nelsons project and he is also one of the models. I can't remember all of the models names. The photographer is Matt Barr. Here is a link to Tye's work

a faery

This is my attempt to doing a Faery. I was nervous at first but it turned out better than expected. The model is Stacy and the photographer was Jay.
She brought some wings that I had to repaint with my airbrush. The original look of the wings was not that great. This was a lot of fun and I still can't get the glitter off my clothes.

werewolf

I was approached by Becky Costa Rockwood to do a werewolf shoot. The model is Chase Weston and I had to improvise on this one. I only had crepe hair and the cat teeth I had made for myself. I had to fit those cat dentures to Chase's teeth which worked out for the photo shoot.
Becky's daughter is the little girl in these photos. This was a really fun shoot to do and we went on location to a few farms and fields. I saw this house that was kind of sinking in the ground that Chase could get on top of easily that was the above picture. Thank you Becky Rockwood of Little Mischievous Studios for the great experience.

Adam and Eve

So as part of my Gods Vs. Monsters series I did an Adam and Eve shoot. Shutter Release had come and asked if I would like to do this theme and I was more than happy to. He had already talked to Paola who is the model to the left.
I figured I would find someone to be Adam so I asked my friend Kyle. I like to go with the non traditional approach to everything I do and getting a young kid to be more cavemanish would work for this shoot.
This was the second time I worked with Paola and I will be posting the other shoot here soon that I did with her.
I used two different size leafs for the stencil and wanted a basic shape with some coloring on it. I was going for something simple that wouldn't be too distracting.

some beauty make-up

I just wanted to show some of the beauty make-ups I have done. These are my favorites of what I have done. The photographers are Midlight studios and MarylinC photography.
The top 3 models are Makell, Lauren, and Kristy. They are awesome to work with. I had to get some beauty make-ups in my port because some people didn't think I could do that.
I can't remember the name of this model to the right, I don't know if she gave me her name. It was for a demo for my friends make-up line Nature Source Mineral cosmetics. Which is the only beauty make-up I will use.
This last picture is for a jewelry line that's based out of California. MarilynC took the photos and Lauren is the model.

Aphrodite and Hephaestus

This is the Aphrodite shoot that was postponed for a few months due to an accident. Jessi Fox and Tycen are the models. I wanted Hephaestus to look scared and dirty since he is the god of the forge.
I wanted to do a broken marble design on Aphrodite since there are so many statues of her around the world. I can't remember who helped with the hair and make-up on her so sorry to those who helped and aren't mentioned.
Jeets took the photos and Justin helped with the scars on Tycen. These kind of shoots are always really fun during the summer. We usually have a huge bar-b-q going on during the whole thing. Thanks to everyone who was involved it was a fun experience.

ECHO & NARCISSUS

This shoot was another one of my Gods Vs. Monsters series I am working on. Laura Watkins is the model and it was the one she wanted to do. Tycen is the model who is Narcissus. I wanted this to be a simple design and I also used stencils to get the shape of the leaves and scales.
Travis Hoaglund is the photographer again and he brought the perfect dark mood to this shoot. The coloring of both characters where based on the fantasy element of the story. Narcissus was a water nymph and Echo was a wood nymph.
Both models did a great job with the characters here. Echo is madly in love with a character who is more in love with himself than anything else.

Venus Vs. Mars

This series was based on Mars and Venus and the idea came from James Morris who is Mars in the photos. I told him about my idea of a series and he loved it. I have know James for a while and have been trying to find the perfect genre for him so we could work together.
He also suggested that Travis Hoaglund be the photographer and  Haley Mohanna be the other model. After talking to Travis about the shoot I recomeneded a gold or amber filter for the light.
James has been modeling and acting for a while so I knew he would really get into his character and bring some top notch talent to the shoot.

I had a meeting with both models so I could get some of their input in what their perspectives where for the characters.
I had Laura Watkins help with the wardrobe and also have some of her input as well into the characters. I wanted this to be something away from what everyone has seen in the past. Haley has a strong commanding personality in her photos so I knew she would be perfect for Venus. She has also been modeling for a while and has been seen in  ads on the side of buses recently in Salt Lake City.
James had brought some accessories as well as Travis and they worked out very well. The shoot was super fun and we got some great shots. The goal was accomplished because everyone involved worked together and that was my favorite thing about the end product.

dragon queen

Penny is an entertainer. She sings, dances, models, and acts occasionally. She was a little shy about asking me to do a shoot with her so I asked her what she wanted to do. Since she is of Asian decent I figured a dragon design would be really cool to do.
She brought some of her belly dancing accessories which added quite a bit more to the shoot. Jeets is the photographer for this shoot as well.
We shot this at Midlight studios location again thank you to Jay and Zeke for allowing us to use their place for this shoot. I tried to go with a non conventional approach to the coloring as well and I really wanted the contacts I picked out to pop so I used a purple for the eyes to bring out all the yellows.
Penny has moved to a school out in California which is the equivalent to Julliard. I really like the way the colors worked together in this shoot as well as the shapes and the whole design. I went with black on the legs and part of the arms to add a little more of a floating feel to the character.

gods vs. monsters

I started a series that has been swimming around in my head the last couple of years called Gods VS. Monsters. The basic idea is having at least 2 characters from any mythology including modern day myth's (which are fantasy and sci fi characters.).
This one I really didn't have a name for the characters the female character is the protector of nature and the male represents man and progress. I wanted this to be a hate/ love relationship between the characters. The models are Makell and Tycen and the photographer is Jeets. I also had people helping with this shoot and I have video footage of the behind the scenes which was taken by Josh Anderson and Jonathan Martin. A special thanks to Midlight studios for use of their place, also thanks to Makell's mom for providing accessories as well and Tycen's mom for coming by and showing support.

A Book Signing Event

Phillip Jones had a meeting with me one day to talk about a book series he had been writing called World of the Crystal Moons. He wanted me to make a lizard mask for one of the characters and also some elfish type ears for a few others.
He has written two books in his series and he has just released the final edition of the first book. He gets feed back from his fans and then edits his books according to that information. I did the mask for two book signing events where he had some posters made. The actors playing the characters at the book signing  were giving out autographs as well as taking pictures with the fans of the books.
Kami Coleman is the lizard lady here and she also helped with the costume as well. She was the most popular at the signing and I had to follow her around to make sure touch ups were done. These photos were taken by Jay from Midlight Studios.

The Bronwyn Bird

I was sent a message from an actress I had worked with before. She hired me to work on the short film Soulless. She wanted to be a bird and I had planned on making a beak for her for the shoot. I had molded her nose and actually sculpted one for her.
The shoot was scheduled sooner so I didn't have time to mold the sculpture and make a beak for her. So I improvised and I think it turned out very well. I looked at a number of tropical birds because I wanted it to be very colorful.
We shot this at the Midlight Studios location and Jay took the photos. We also set up a full size mirror for Bronwyn so she could look at herself in it. She did a great job acting like how a bird would while in front of it's own reflection.
This is actually one of my all time favorite body paints I have done. I love how the colors pop and the detail I am the most proud of. Bronwyn mad a great model and she was very fun to work with. I hope this one is as pleasing to look at for you guys as it is for me.
